Mahavidya Kamala or Kamalatmika: The Lotus Goddess of Auspiciousness Kamla | Painting by Giri Ratna Singh
Panchami Arts is delighted to offer a captivating acrylic painting by Giri Ratna Singh, acclaimed traditional Indian artist of Mahavidya Kamala, the tenth Mahavidya. This exquisite piece forms part of the coveted Dasha Mahavidya series, celebrating the divine feminine through powerful and evocative imagery.
Kamalatmika, also known as Kamla, is the tenth and the last Mahavidya. She is also known as Tantric Lakshmi. The goddess in the form of Kamala bestows prosperity and wealth, fertility and crops, and good luck. Mahavidya Kamala has as Her consort Sri Sadashiva Bhairava ( also known as Para Vasudeva by some views). Her name translates to “the one of lotus,” reflecting her association with purity and blossoming amidst murky waters. The artist portrays Kamala as making the gestures of boon-giving and fearlessness.
Visualizing the Divine Through Dhyana Shloka:
Painstakingly crafted to reflect the Dhyana shloka (meditation verse) of Mahavidya Kamala, this artwork transcends mere representation. Singh’s meticulous attention to detail brings to life the beauty and benevolence of the goddess associated with wealth, prosperity, and material fulfilment.
